I’ll be brief here because I know you are all busy. Food. We love it. But we almost lost it. The 20th century almost obliterated generations of food knowledge through a deluge of marketing hype and corporate shenanigans.
I saw an interview around 2002 where a kid was asked what ketchup was made up. No clue. Long story short, tv, documentaries, restaurants, books, blogs and youtube have managed to inch us back into a state of food enlightenment. My goal here is to bring to light reasonable ways to reintroduce ourselves to the diversity of food. Sure there will be references to research, history and guest opinions. But mostly it will be about how food has become overly complicated while at the same time increasingly boring and predictable.
I will attempt to demonstrate that even living at the poverty level you can eat well. I’ll show that you don’t need a cook book or a box to make a meal. All the while I’ll keep reminding you that all the hullabaloo about weight, energy, detoxing or stress is for not if you don’t consider all those lovely organisms living in your gut. Welcome to a diet were we talk about what we eat and what we poop.
